ABG Foundation provides food aid to river erosion victims in Manikganj
Anvir Bashundhara Group (ABG) Foundation on Wednesday (September 2) distributed food aid among people affected by river erosion in Daulatpur upazila of Manikganj.
The foundation provided 25kg of rice to each of more than 300 distressed people at Chakhari Charan Government Primary School in the afternoon.
Shayla Kabir, wife of Manikganj-1 constituency lawmaker S A Jinnah Kabir, attended the programme as the chief guest.
District Jubo Dal Convener Kazi Mostak Hossain Dipu, Joint Convener Asif Iqbal Rony, District Swechchhasebak Dal Joint Convener Kazi Nadim Hossain Tuel, Daulatpur Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Abdus Salam and former Upazila Jubo Dal Vice-President Lokman Hossain were also present, along with people from different professions.
Speaking at the programme, Shayla Kabir said, “We have always stood by distressed people and will continue to do so. The ABG Foundation’s humanitarian assistance is not limited to Manikganj; such support is being provided across the country.”

She also said ABG Foundation is a unique welfare-oriented organisation that has always stood as a symbol of trust beside disadvantaged and distressed people across the country.
ABG Foundation has always extended its helping hand to distressed people and supported every welfare-oriented and humanitarian initiative in society. Many families in Daulatpur are currently going through severe hardship after losing their homes and belongings to river erosion.
Considering the difficult circumstances faced by the people, ABG Foundation has come forward to support them and provided essential items.
Nilufa Khatun, a beneficiary aged over 60, became emotional after receiving the assistance. She said, “Our homes have been washed away by river erosion, and we are struggling to survive. There are many wealthy people in society, but no one came forward to help us. During this difficult time, ABG Foundation has provided us with essential daily necessities. I pray to Allah for these generous people and hope they will continue to stand beside helpless people like me.”
Another elderly beneficiary, Lal Mia, expressed his gratitude, saying, “ABG Foundation is the only organisation that has come forward to stand beside helpless and financially struggling people like us. We sincerely pray to the Almighty for them. May Allah grant them long lives and give them the strength to continue standing like a large shade-giving tree beside the poor and disadvantaged people of society.”
